Satellite communications have the advantage of wide coverage, are unrestricted by geographical conditions and are less affected by disasters. Satellites are the most effective means of ensuring first response communication in the event of a disaster. As a national first-class emergency response team, China Satcom uses its communication satellites in different orbits and different frequency bands (C, Ku and Ka) to integrate all necessary communication solutions to form a highly reliable and multi-functional satellite communication system for the purposes of providing communication services during a disaster when there is no transportation, electricity and on-the-ground communication. The satellite communication system has functions of voice, image, data, internet access, video conferencing as well as video monitoring to meet the demands of customers for unified command and dispatch, on-site audio and video transmission as well as video conferencing in different locations.
