APSTAR-7 was launched on March 31,2012 onboard a LM-3B/E launch vehicle to replace APSTAR-2R currently operating at 76.5°E orbital position. It provides commercial communications services with twenty-eight C-band and twenty-eight Ku-band transponders. The satellite service area includes Asia, Middle East, Africa, Austria and partial Europe in the C-band as well as China, Middle East, Central Asia and Africa for DTH and VSAT transcontinental broadcasting and communication services in the Ku-band.
